Back to Torquay...

After having such a lovely time in Torquay today, we decided to head back there this evening after dinner (lovely roast with homemade blackberry and apple crumble for pud. Blackberries fresh from the lanes, apples fresh from our tree. Yum!) to show the children how it looks when all lit up. I can't help but remember all those times I walked in Spain, France, and Italy with my parents. Towns all lit up at night, with the street-side market stalls and shops open late. Torquay does have a little bit of that continental feel to it at night (don't laugh), with it's street cafes and lighting, and the children certainly did adore experiencing it whilst we walked around admiring views such as this...

The palm trees and marina certainly add to that feeling of being somewhere luxurious...

The children enjoyed practically having the beach to themselves...

It was a really lovely warm evening, and today has just seemed like the perfect family day (even more perfect because it only cost us £1.50!)

  2. Looks like a good evening by the sea. We had the kids out late on Friday--and they were in awe of the dark night--it is still so new to them!
