So far today...

We have had such a lovely morning.  Everyone seems to be in a happy mood.  I wonder how much of this atmosphere is down to the wonderful news that Lee received last night.  Lee passed his NVQ Plumbing exams!  I am so proud of him.
So far this morning we have baked bread, played Uno with Callum (great for colour and number recognition, plus mathematics), and worked from our Maths textbooks.  This afternoon we are reading and doing project work.
Some people on Facebook have asked me for the recipe for "Mixed-Up Chilli".  This is Chilli on a very mild level to suit the children (and myself!), but it is pretty yummy.
Ingredients:
Lean Mince Beef, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, 1 tin of Baked Beans, 1 Pepper, 1 tin of Sweetcorn, 1 tin of Chilli Beans, Mixed Herbs and Seasoning to suit personal taste.

I brown the mince first in a pan, then throw all the ingredients into the Slow Cooker, medium heat, for 3-4 hours.  It can of course be cooked in a saucepan for quickness if preferred.
