Out and about some more...

As we enjoyed our few hours out of the house so much yesterday, we decided to have more of the same today - only this time we headed for the beach.

Joseph decided not to join us, deciding to tidy his room instead.  WHAT?!  We actually thought it was some sort of ploy to go back to bed (he likes his bed), but actually he did tidy his bedroom AND hoover the floor.  Yes, I was shocked too.

Meanwhile, out in the beautiful fresh air, the rest of us walked.

We took the woodland route to the beach, and discovered a rope swing along the way...

I just loved standing and listening to the bird song, it was so peaceful.  I also loved watching this little fella flying to and fro.

Chelsea just stood by and looked ultra cool...

Eventually (after taking a wrong turn and having to back track a looooong way), we found the beach.  What a lovely little cove it was, so peaceful.

Taisia enjoyed another few hours of exploration...

I took the older ones to the rocks and pools for our own exploration.  Watching the gentle swirl of the waves and breathing in the fabulously fresh sea air was really refreshing.

Tiegan discovered this rather interesting little fella.  He (or she) held our curiosity for quite a while.

A quick google when we got home revealed it to be a Green Leaf Worm.  You learn something new everyday.

After a couple of hours play, it was time to start the long (uphill) trek back to the car.  Taisia decided she needed a stick to help her with the walk, just like her big brothers do sometimes, but she didn't seem to get it quite right...

Aren't her boots just the cutest?  I've got a pair too, exactly the same, just bigger (obviously!).  Mine were £12 in the Next online sale. They arrived this morning and me loves them muchly.

I'm off to make a start on our new nature journal which I shall share with you tomorrow, but I shall leave you with this parting gift.  Nature's beauty...

  1. Beautiful post Julia! Beaches like this always make me think of the story We're Going On a Bear Hunt - one of mine and R's favourite books. Looking forward to your nature journal! xx
